More Style for the Average American Man

No matter how much I think about this, I can never seem to grasp an answer to this one question that has been bothering me for years now. Why is it that American men are afraid to wear clothes that might be deemed as too fashionable? On top of that, most of them don’t like to wear clothes that actually fit them. Not to say that men should wear clothes that are tight, but something fitted would be nice. I can’t speak for all girls, but I can confidently say that a good portion of us like it when we can see the curve of your butt, toned arms, broad chest and muscular backs. It’s our female primitive instinct to be attracted to that, so why not show it off a little?

In effort to inspire some of my male readers to dress a little cooler, I've looked into a few pieces that are not only affordable, but also meant to make you look bad ass this fall/winter. Here goes:

1. A cool jacket is a staple. What I like about this one is that it's detailed with a motorcycle-inspired look that is so bad-boy but is also toned down by the comfortable material and casual hood. The best part is that technically this jacket can be worn all year round because it's so layer-able. You can throw it on top of t shirts, under leather jackets, and definitely under coats. Get a detailed look of it here on Etsy if you're interested.

2. Don't be afraid to accessorize. The other day, someone told me I looked like a hipster just because I was wearing a beanie. Just to clarify things, beanies don't make you a hipster, but if you can pull it off, you should definitely do it. My friend was wearing this one the other day when I saw him getting a hair cut from this salon I go to. I wanted to forget that he had it on and miraculously make it disappear but I think he knew I liked it way too much. It's not tight so it lays on your head comfortably and it's extremely light weight with loose knitting so it allows your head to breathe while still providing warmth. It's from Urban Outfitters and is a little pricey for a beanie, but well worth it. Take a look here if you're interested.

3. They say good shoes take you to good places so trust me when I say that good impressions go far when you have cool shoes on that aren't average looking. This particular pair are a steal from Forever21. They're an oxford meets boots style that gives off dressy and rugged appeal at the same time. I also love that they're grey, a color that most men wouldn't think to pick up because they are almost always looking for a black or brown shoe. Check it out here if you're interested in learning more.

4. Your t-shirt could be from the thrift shop for all I care, but your jeans must be nice. One of my favorite brands I love for jeans that aren't crazy expensive, but also aren't cheap, but has really good quality is J Brand. The fit is always good, the color lasts, and the shape doesn't change drastically, given that you wash it right. I swear by these jeans and you would probably too if you owned a pair. Check it out here if you're interested.

I could list come more items I think every man should have but the list would go on and on so it has to stop here for now. If you're still interested in expanding your style horizon, check out these cool fashion blogs that I frequently read:
