4 Valentine's Day Ideas for the Broke but Beautiful

Quick! It's Valentine's Day. Did you get your significant other anything yet? If you're broke but beautiful and you need ideas, here are four good ones just under $10 or even FREE!

1. Cook a meal - It doesn't have to be spectacular or expensive. In fact, it could be made from anything that you already have in the fridge as long as you remember to set a romantic table complete with utensils wrapped in folded napkins and candles.

2. At-home Spa Certificates - Get some colorful paper and make spa coupons for your lover from yours truly. Light some candles and make sure to buy a soothing massage oil to complete your spa experience.

3. Cupcakes - Make a batch of cupcakes and use them to write a loving message for your lover. They probably won't be as pretty as the ones on Pinterest, but at least your lover will know you put a lot of effort into it.

4. Homemade Card - Rummage around your house for anything crafty like magazines, stickers, and old jewelry you'll never use again. Then use what you have and put together a card. If you're feeling extra creative, try your hand at 3-D or pop-up cards.

I hope these ideas are helpful for you guys and if you have some good suggestions, don't forget to slip them in the comment box! Happy Valentine's Day and I hope you all enjoy the beautiful photos from photographer, Carolyn Luu. We went out of our box this time and did something a little sexier for today :)

-Cheers!

Friends Are Special! :D

Haha.. I love this little emo cartoon!
Last night I spent hours on the phone with my friend Carolyn, who I have known since the 2nd grade. We have this special relationship where we could go months without talking to each other, but once we do, it's like yesterday I just saw her. She's like a sister who is never there physically (we live in different states), but is always there mentally. I could talk to her about anything and she would understand. She's wise, logical and understands me as a person.

I remember the first time I noticed her in grade school. She was a cute dorky little thing with large glasses. Now she's a hot little thing probably prancing around the office in a killer business suit! But that's beside the point. I thought she was so smart because she had such creative answers and she was always right when she raised her hand. Haha I might have had a "little girl crush" on her.

As we grew older, we got to know each other and we began to hang out. That's when we started getting in trouble together! Ohhh those fun days playing hookie, flirting with boys, thinking we knew but we knew nothing, and tricking our parents to believe we were working on "projects." We were so bad. It wasn't funny then, but it's more funny thinking back to the youthful carefree days when you could screw up and just fix it.

Because we're older now, it's not the same anymore. We can't just screw up; we're adults. The only thing that remains the same is the mutual understanding and friendship we have for each other and I'm so happy we have that. It's really nice to always have a friend like that who you know will forever be there for you to listen and give advice without judging you. I love her and I value everything she says because I know I can trust her to tell me the right things.

Carolyn, if you happen to read this, I just want to let you know how much I appreciate you as a friend, more like a sister :) I <3 you!!

Enough about my friend. Do you have a friend like this too? Maybe today is the day you tell them how much you love them too!

-Cheers!
